There has, however, been a good deal of inquiry for wheat for shipment, but in consequence of the few parcels offering no business of importance has been transacted ; a email parcel of about 1600 bushels of Tasmanian was sold early in the morning at Bβ, being the only scale effected. Maize from Clarence river is offering freely at 3s, but Sydney maize, in sound condition, cannot be bought under 3s 2d. Candles are beginning to move off steadily at Hid. Teas do not excite much notice ; sales of good common congous harp been made at Iβ 4d ; a line of tt edium, in chests, was quitted at la 7d ; and liiii; nu-diuuie in half-chests have brought 2e. In sugars, trade parcels are quitted at £33 10s for brewing crystals. We notice that the balance of the Alchymiet'e cargo, 5400 bags, will be offered for public sale on Tuesday. The importers of the cargo of sugar ex Wallaroo have, however, decided on withdrawing that cargo from the market for the present In oilmen's stores we note sales of Tainsh'e jams in quantity at 9s 6d. Linseed oil command more attention, several parcels having found buyers. A line of 250 drums of boiled alone was placed at 4-* 9Jd ; a couple of hundred drums half boiled and half-raw realized 4e 9d. There is a good deal of enquiry for hops on speculation as well as for trade purposes ; a line of 400 pockets of the 1865 crop was taken up on private terms, and subsequently some forty pockets were reeold at 2s 6d. Ormond cigars are wanted, and 40s has been offered for the only parcel held in the market, without being responded to. Thirty-eig , t packages of aromatic tobaccos, consisting of pounds, half-pounds, and fancy, were placed privately at up to 2s. At auction, twist in faulty condition brought Iβ 4£d to Is sfd, aromatic half-pounde realized Is 9£d, aromatic pounds sold at Iβ Bd, and fancy at '2s 3d and 2s 4£d. A shipment of 500 kegs of American cut nails changed hande at a figure scarcely up to late quotations. Sales of Machen's etout continue to be effected at equal to 9s 3d.
