Chbistchuboh—November 29. [Before C. C. BoWen, Esq., R.M.] William Wilson was charged, on information, with being the owner of three flocks of Bcubby sheep. His Worship inflicted a fine of £100 in the first two cases, and of £50 in the other ; the fines to be remitted if clean certificates are produced by the 10th of March next. George Smith was charged with robbery from the person. Constable McCann deposed that he went to tho White Hart on the evening of the 27th instant. He saw the prisoner throw a watch on the floor, which wns identified by prosecutor as his property. He arrested prisoner, and cautioned him.

H. Orpwood said he was a farmer. He had lately arrived in Christchurch, and was staying kt the White Hurt. On the evening of tlie 27th he hud been drinking, and fell asleep, and on waking missed his watch and some other property he had about him.
