MR. DUNCAN'S LETTER.
TO THE EDITOB OP THE PBESS. Srß,—A "Tetter""' written T)y~ Mr "Andrew Duncan appears in your issue of this morning, of which it would scarcely be necessary to take any notice except that animus is implied in the la*t paragraph.
The first two paragraphs admit of much doubt as to what Mr Duncan really did, or intended to say, and it is a'pity that the debutes of the City Council are so closely kept- private that the words made use of by a reporter cannot be substantiated by the general public. About a year ago the Council erected a form to seat six of the public, which has not as yet been used except on one or two isolated occasions. And another strange thing iB, sir, that the reports furnished have not been impugned until thi9 time, when certain councillors are to be re elected or otherwise, and when it becomes necessary that their names should be kept before the public. I am, &c, Yotjb Eepokteb. November 26, 1867.
