KAIAPOI MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.
This Council met as usual on Tuesday evening. Present—J. C. Porter, 'Esq/ (chairman), Messrs Hall, Kerr,.Henwood, DudleyHewlings, Dobbs, and Woodford. ■ The minutes j of last meeting were read and confirmed. , The Clerk reported that Mr AMw-r&ig fed completed his contract _br;_netalliligt Jones atreet. Mr Bowßiaker.hadnearly-ißUhsd.th. woodwork of the groin in Baven street, and would commence filling in- the j.tone during the coming week. He had inspected tbfl protective works at the head of Charles street, and reported that they wero not in tho least damaged. Tho ground behind had howerer settled, and the hollow required filling '»• About forty loads of gravel would do tha required work. The balance-sheet showed a balance nut ß33 " of £41 12s 6d after passing the accoutii* sen' in. The receipts were—By bal-M-V *«" 17s 8d; by rent of bridge, £16 lOs-Mrty rent of river reserves, £1 0.
