THEREBY GIVE NOTICE, pursuant to Clause VI of " The Canterbury Waste Lands Act, 1866," that on the 6th instant an SDplication was lodged in the Land Office Cbrifltchurch, by the Trust and Agency Company of Australasia (Limited), to have issued by the Waste Lands Board, in substitution of the original license of pasturage run No. 450, Class 3, now held by the said Company, a separate license to the said Trust and Agency Company of Australasia (Limited), of that portion of run No. 450, Class 3, lying to the northward of a fence running from the River Hook in an easterly direction along the southern boundary of Section 6554, and a line continued in the same direction to the sea ; and a separate license to Messrs John Studholme and Michael Studholme of that portion of the aforesaid pasturage run lying to the southward of the fence and line above described. If any person can show cause why such separate licenses as aforesaid should not be issued, the same must be made known to the Waste Lands Board on or before the sth day ot August, 1867. I HEREBY GIVE NOTICE, pursuant to Clause VI. of " The Canterbury Waste Lands Act, 1866," that on the 27th day of June, 1867, an application was lodged in the Land Office, Christchurch, by the " Canterbnry Investment Company (Limited)," by the hands of their manager, John Hamilton Ward, toi have issued by the Waste Lands Board, in substitution of the original pasturage license numbered 96, Class 11., now held by the said company, a separate license to Messrs John Bealey and Samuel Bealey of that portion of the aforesaid run containing one hundred and eighty-eight acres, more or less, bounded on the north by the River Wakaepa, on the east by P.R. No. 277, and a line in continuation of the western boundary thereof, and on tbe west by the road forming the eastern boundary of Section 9882 ; and a separate license to the aforesaid " Canterbury Investment Company (Limited)" of the remaining portion of the run above mentioned, situated to the southward and westward of the land above described. If any person can show canse why such separate licenses as aforesaid should not be issued, the same must be made known to mc on or before the 26th day of August, 1867. W. G. THE TELEGRAPH COMMISSIONER, is prepared to receive Tenders for the Supply and Delivery of about 2600 Telegraph Poles for the renewal of the line of Telegraph between Woodend, in the Province of Canterbury, and Blenheim, in the Province of Marlborough. The poles to be of the following dimensions :— A few forty feet long, twenty-four inches square at the butt, and eight inches square at the top; to be charred for a length of twelve feet from the butt. A. few thirty feet long, eighteen inches square at the butt, and eight inches square at the top; to be charred for a length of nine feet from the butt. The major portion to be twenty-five feet long, eight inches square at the butt, and six inohes square at the top 5 to be charred for a length of six feet from the butt. The poles to be sawn from the heart of totara; to be sound, straight, clean, and free from sap and shakes. No pole to be charred till it has been cut for thirty clear days. N.B.—Nb poles will be accepted that contain the least sap. The poles to be delivered at distances of about four chains apart, along the present line of telegraph, except where otherwise indicated by the Telegraph Engineer or his deputy. Tenders are to specify a price per pole as per sizes given, also the prices chaired or uncharred; and may be either for the entire distance, or for any of the following sections, viz.:—(1) From Blenheim to Flaxbourne. (2) From Flaxbourne to Kaikora. (3.) From Kaikora to Woodend. Each tender must be accompanied by a deposit of £25, as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should any tenderer refuse to sign the contract in the event of his tender being accepted. The usual sureties will be required of the accepted tenderer. Where bonds are the proposed security, the names of two bondsmen must accompany each tender. _ Specifications can be seen and further par--.outers can be obtained at the office of the Telegraph Engineer, Wellington, on and after July 1,1867. Tenders, addressed " The Telegraph Engineer, Wellington," and endorsed "Tender for Telegraph Poles between Woodend and Blenheim," to be sent in not later than August 1, By order of the Telegraph Commissioner, No. 1 Alfbbd Shbath, Telegraph Engineer.
