From the placard outside the Telegraph Station we publish the following arrivals and departures, viz:— W-XLIKGTO-r. Arrived—March 26—7 p.m., H.M.B. Brisk from South. Sailed —March 26—1 p.m., John Knox, ship, for Lyttelton. Nelson. Arrived —March 26—11 p.m., Bangitoto from Wellington. Port Chaxmers. Arrived—March 26—6.35 p.m., Phoebe from Lyttelton. Blttpp. March 27—Barque signalled at Heads as Flying Buck, from Adelaide. Bailed—March 26 —11 a.m., Edward and Christopher for Oamaru. March 27—12.45 p.m.-,' South Australian for Dunedin.
On Monday morning laet, at about half-past eight o'clock, the inhabitants of Akaroa were etartled by'the arrival of H M.c. Brisk. His Excellency Sir George Grey, accompanied by Major Richardson, Major Grey, and the Rev. Mr Thatcher, landed at about. half-past ten, and 'Was received by Mesers Watson, Aylmer, Latter, and several other of the inhabitants. He Visited the church, and after calling on some of the old French settlers, returned on board at a little before one p.m. The ship then 1 " weigHed anchor, took a short tonr towards the head/bf the harbor, and proceeded en route for Wellington at about halfpaat two p.m.
