POST-OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails, per Phoebe, for the Northern ports of New Zealand, will close at Christchurch at 8 a.m., and at Lyttelton at 11 a.ra., on Friday, the 6th proximo. Mails, per Geelong, for Otago and Southland, will close at Christchurch at 8 a.m., and at Lyttelton at 11.15 a.m, on Friday, the 6th inst.
In consequence of an alteration in the dates I of arrival and departure of the European mails via Suez at and from Melbourne, the following corresponding alterations in the arrivals and departures of mails at and from this office will take place : — Arrive in Lyttelton from the South on the 6th, 14th, 21st and 28th of each month. Leave for the South on the 3rd, 10th, 18th and 24th of each month. Arrive from the North on the 2nd, 9th, 18th and 24th of each month. Leave for the North on the 6th, 15th, 21st and 29th of each month. Mails for Hawkswood will clobo at Christchurch at 7 a.m. every Monday. A post-office has been established at Addington, for which place mails will close at Christchurch on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdaysi at 11 a.m. ~ Apoßt-office is established at Mr. Ford's, Selwyn Forks. A post-office is established at Leeaton, for which place mails will be forwarded vid Weeden, closing at Christchurch every Monday and Wednesday, at 7 a.m. Mails for Oxford will leave Bangiora at 1 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Mails for the Selwyn Forks, Windwhistle House, and Snowdon, will close at Christchurch on Wednesdays at 7 a.m.; the return mail will close at Snowdon at 7 a.m., and at Windwhistle House at 7.45 a.m. on Thursdays Until further notice, the West Coast mails for Hokitika, Greymouth, and offices on the road will close at 4.30 p.m. every Monday and Thursday; the additional service commencing on the 19th instant. Mails for the Hurunui will close at Christchurch every Monday and Wednesday at 7 a.m. F. E. Wbioht, Chief Postmaster.
