ASHBURTON ROAD BOARD. mENDERS are required for the Erection of a X Public Pound in the town of Ashburton, consisting of a yard, 9 panels by 5 panels, (of 4 rails and a cup) with a division. Posts to be round block pine, rot less than 12 inches through, charred at the ground line, 9 feet € inches in length, and to be sunk 3 feet 6 inches in the ground. Rails to be black birch, 9 feet 6 inches long, 6 inches at the back, by 9 inches in depth. Proper slip rails to be made where required. Tenders to include cartage, erection, and all expenses. The Board do not bind themselves to accept the lowest or any tender. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in pursuance of the provisions of the Lyttelton Municipal Council Ordinance, 1863, a Meeting of the Ratepayers of the Municipality will be holden at the Town Hall, Lyttelton, at the hour of noon on Tuesday, January 10, 1865 (being the second Tuesday in January), for the purpose of electing four members to serve in the room of Messrs. U. Macpherson, H. Renshaw, Wm. Walker and Joseph Ward, who retire, by ballot; also to elect one member in the room of Mr. Thomas Major Gee, who has resigned. The poll (if necessary) will be taken on Wednesday, January 11,1865, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the result will be declared at 15 minutes past 4 o'clock of the day of polling.
