Press Office, Saturday, September 10. There is no alteration to report in the grain trade daring- tbe past week and. with the exception of a retail trade in seed corn, no business has been done. Flour is still at £26 per ton -, oats are, if possible, still duller of sale, and prices somewhat lower, 2s 9d to 3s is demanded, but purchasers are not found at this price Mr. W. D. Barnard reports that the horse market was well supplied with almost every description of stock, comprising 20 horses just overland from Dunedin. and sundry others, amounting in all to ahout «o horses entered for sale. The attendance was pretty numerous, and prices obtained were throughout fair, considering the general depressed state of the money market. Flr-t-class draught hacks, none ofTered ; medium do, frum £45 to £60; inferior do, from £2"> to £!5 ; firstclass saddle and light harness horses, from £35 to .£SO ; medium do, from £20 to £S0 ; inferior hacks and packers, from £10 to £20.
