TASMANIA.
Our advices from Tasmania are to the 14th Inst. We make the following extracts from papers recently received :—
There was very little stir npon the wharves to-day, business men prefering to await the arrival of the English and Colonial mails, hourly expected, prior to operating in any description of colonial produce, all of which Iβ dull of sale. One or two small clips of wool, and we believe the first of the season, came in to-day, but will not be under offer until after the home September advices hare been received.
There was searrelv any wheat on offer to-day, but the demand was limited, and the prices ranged from 5a td to 5* td. Oafs, no stocks, firm at es cd.
Flour, at the mills, waa quoted at Ll2 ios to Ll3, with little doing. The potatoes of last year's growth have nearly all been brought forward, and those now coming in are dull of sale at L 4 los to L 5, bags in. In hay there was no alteration. The demand for loose for town consumption is ecareelv m> brisk, owing to the large quantities of green stun" being retailed at is per doien.— * Mercury,' Nor. 12.
The exporters decline to operate until the receipt of advice* by the Havilah. which will be delivered iv the morning. The Circassian and Boomerang are both coming: round from Lanncestor. with full canroea of wheat. Of bacon and hams there arc full stocks, and prices are rather dull. Prices remain «c follows:—Wheat *s 6d to Ss *d per bushel; flour, Ll2 to Lin per ton; oats. 6s to 6s ?a per bushel; bran, in 4d ; Kngllsh barley, 6s to 6s 3d ; Cape. 4s to 4n fid: looee hay. L 5 10s to Lβ per ton; country pressed, L6to Lβ 10s: and hydraulic pressed. Lβ 10 to L; ss; potatoes, L 4 to 1.4 10k ; but* ter, is 3d per lb ; bacon iod.— 'Advertiser, , Nov. 13.
