BLOOD ROYAL & VANDERBILT TT7ILL STAND THIS SEASON at the V* Proprietor's Stables, Cathedral-square, Christchurch. BLOOD ROYAL. | The history of the English Thorough-bred shows unquestionably that we are indebted for its pre-eminence to the introduction of Eastern blood, especially that of the true Arabian. In England Iho necessity for the re-introduction of the Arab has been fully recognised, and is now being carried out. If such ia the case in England, where the dam, as well as the sire, can be procured of pure descent, it must be a matter of much greater necessity in the Colonies, where the dam in a large majority of instances is far from thorough-bred. Stonehenge and other writers on the horse recognise one characteristic possessed by the Arabian stallion in a far greater degree than the sires of any other breed, namely that of transmitting to its stock its own valuable qualities of symmetry, pace, and endurance. The proprietor, believing therefore that the introduction of Arabian blood into our breed of horses would be productive of the best results, ' secured the services of this horse for the Christchurch district, and now rated him at a low fee so as to secure the fulfilment of hie object. Blood Royal's etock have already proved themselves capable of great endurance under fatigue, and those of them that will be shown at the ensuing Agricultural Show will demonstrate the transmission of the symmetry of the true Arab.
