OUR POLITICAL CANARD.
We noticed a paragraph, iv both the Lytiellon Times and the Canterbury Standard of yesterday to the effect that the Members of the Executive Council had resigned, and that pending other arrangements W. S. Moorhouse, Esq. had been invited to accept the office of President of the Executive Council. The above journals may have sources of information to wliich we have no access, but we believe that the rumour alluded to by them is considerably exaggerated, and that the facts of the case are simply th ese ; that Mr. Moorhouse has been requested to become a member of the Executive Council pending some arrangements which are not yet decided upon, and that for a short period Mr. Moorhouse has consented to assist at the deliberations of the Council.
