And in the matter of tin Petition of John Manning, late of Christ church, in the Province of Canterbury but now of Kaiapoi, in said Province Saddler and Harness Maker, a Debtoi not in custody. This Twenty-fourth day of August, 1863. UPON the application of Mr. Caffry, of Counsel for the said Petitioner, John Manning, after reading the said Petition purporting to be signed by the said Petitioner such Debtor as aforesaid, and to be concurred in by William Manning of Christchurch in the Province of Canterbury, brewer, William Craythorne of Lincoln Road near Christchurch aforesaid, farmer, and George Peters of Christchurch aforesaid, saddler, Creditors to the extent of not less than fifty pounds sterling in the whole, and also the affidavit of the said John Manning filed on the Twentysecond day of August, pursuant to the said Act : This Court being satisfied of the truth of the matters contained in the said Petition doth hereby grant an ad interim order of sequestration of the estate and effects of the said John Manning, and doth direct that the estate and effects of the said John Manning shall be taken and held by Alexander Back of Cliristchurch, Esquire, as Receiver under the said Act, hereby ap pointed by the Court, subject to such furthc Order of the Court as may be made under or in pursuance of the provisions of this Act: And this Court doth hereby appoint Monday, the 16th day of November next, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, for the hearing of such Petition and the proofs of debts and claims of creditors, at the Court Honse, Cliristchurch aforesaid: And the Court doth also further order and grant an ad interim order of protection to protect the person and estate of the said John Manning, from arrest, execution, or legal process until further orders of this Court.
