Hogg, Esq., of Engleneld, to Sell by Public Auction, on the premises, ON TUESDAY, APRIL 15, 'T'lIE whole of his elegant suite of A _ dining, drawing and bedroom furniture, and outhouse furniture and utensils. HORSES AND CARRIAGES. SADDLE HORSES. COWS AND OTHER LIVE STOCK. GARDEN IMPLEMENTS. The DRAWING ROOM FURNITURE Consists of very handsome tables, couches, two lounge chairs, Canterbury's, console tables, and elegant pier glasses. THE DINING ROOM FURNITURE Consists of extending mahogany dining tables with carved pillars, mahogany sideboards, and cheffonier, dining room chairs, &c. THE HALL FURNITURE Consists of oak chairs, hat stand and table. THE BEDROOM FURNITURE [s elegant and complete; marble top washstands, dressing tables, &c. Handsome and comfortable carriage, pair of admirably broken horses and harness. Saddle Horses. I Cows in full profit. The whole of the above furniture has been selected by Mr. Hogg for his own use, and has been procured from the best makers . The horses are in daily use by Mr. Hogg, and are thoroughly broken, they comprise several very valuable animals. CHRIST'S COLLEGE, CANTERBURY. SOMES SCHOLARSHIP. AN election to a Scholarship on the Somes Foundation is appointed to take place on Tuesday, March 25, 1802. The value of the scholarship is £50 per annnra, for three years, subject to a deduction of £10 for any year in which the annual examination of the scholars shall not have been passed satisfactorily. It is open to all members of the Church, of England above ] 5 and under ] 9 years of age, preference being given in the event of equality to any candidate who may be of the kindred of the foundress Mrs. Maria Somes, or of her late husband, Mr. Joseph SomesApplications, accompanied by certificates of age and of good moral character, and (in case of founder's kin) by satisfactory proof of consanguinity, must be sent to the undersigned on or before Wednesday, the 19th of March, at 9 a.m. at which time the examination will commence. Candidates will be examined in the following subjects especially:— Greek Testament, (the Acts of the Apostles) Herodotus; Book i, chapters containing the Life of Cra-sus : Homer, Iliad, Book in: Virgil; Bucolics, and First Georgic : Second Book of Livy : History of England, Period of the Reformation, Four Books of Euclid : Arithmetic, Algebra : Physical Geography, and French.
