Local Master Builders Meet
"7 The local Master Builders’ Association held its monthly meeting at Opotiki. Fourteen members were present and Mr W. Hanlen, the president, was in the chair. Mr J. R. Smith, of Christchurch, the president of the New Zealand Master Builders’ Federation, addressed the meeting. He stated that the New Zealand Federation’s steps to institute a board for registration of builders were proceeding. This measure will give added protection to the public as only bona fide builders of repute, Who had been in business five years and who were employers of labour Would, be eligible for registration, and upon legitimate complaints from the’ public a registered builder would be called before the board and for unethical conduct of any I work she could be deregistered and [further dealt with. \
