MENTALITY OF PEOPLE WHO DESTROY
“I do not understand the mentality of people who destroy wilfully the efforts of a Society such as ours.”
Thus the president of the Whakatane Beautifying Society, Mr R. S. Buttimore, yesterday, commenting on the fact that two Tif the 23 standard roses recently planted by the Society in Crete Street had been destroyed.
It was believed, said Mr Buttimore, that two men had deliberately done the damage on Saturday nights.
