Pennies Collected For Football Clubs Weigh 126 Pounds
Approximately 126 pounds weight in pennies has been collected by a Whakatane hotel for donation to the football clubs of the town.
In the hotel’s public bar is a box in which patrons are encouraged to place pennies. Coins to the value of £26 have been placed there. One pound’s worth of pennies, according to bank scales, weigh Til ounces. That is, the £26 weighs 125 pounds 15 ounces.
