The Leader of the Opposition, Mr Fraser, will be a visitor to the sextennial celebrations.
Mr C. A. Suckling was elected by the Whakatane Hospital Board yesterday to represent it on the War Memorial Committee. Miss K. Miller left this week on her annual leave and sailed for Sydney by the Wanganella. While there she will attend the wedding of her niece.
Mr F. Mawkes has been appointed assistant secretary of the Whakatane Hospital Board on a parttime basis. He succeeds Mr T. A. Bridger, who has retired.
