Permit Issued For Music Hall Reports Engineer

Building permits issued in the last month included one for a music hall, stated the electrical engineer, Mr F. W. Lysaght, in a report presented to the Whakatane Borough Council on Monday night. He said:—

New Service Lines. The new service lines erected for the month are as follows: —

One temporary single phase line in Salonika Street for builders saw, one temporary single phase line in King Street to supply lighting, 1 3 phase service in in McAlister Street to supply lighting, range and cylinder, 1 single phase service line in Pa area to supply lighting, 1 3 phase service line in Landing Road to supply lighting, range & cylinder.

New Instalations. The following new instalations have been tested and connected to the supply also a number of alterations and additions: Ranges 4, cylinders 4, lighting and heating 4, motors 1. New King Street Sub-station. Considerable work has been completed with th installation of the equipment af this sub-station. A portion of the loading of the Boroufh could be transferred over should it become necessary before the completion of the whole job which will not be completed for some months. Main Transmission Line Maintenance. A further lot of defective insulators have been replaced on this line during the month the total to date being over 200. Water Works Department. The new pumping plant has been in service every day during the month and is very satisfactory. Th© repairs and overhaul of the old duplicate plant have not yet been completed by A. and G. Price, Thames. Building Permits. The following building permits have been issued: New residences 2, one new music hall, new staff quarters hospital 1, additions to residence 2, garages and tool sheds 2, wash-house 1, garage 1, plaster and drying room 1, additions to garages 2. Total 13, the value of the above buildings being £26,009. Domain Street Lighting. A new line has been erected along the footpath route in the Domain to supply three street lighting fittings in place of the old ones on the trees. These should be a very much improved installation.
