TWO CANDIDATES FOR MAYORALTY?
It is being freely suggested that a well-known Whakatane businessman, a former Borough Councillor, will be a candidate for the Mayoralty in November. He could not be contacted for confirmation or otherwise of this rumour yesterday, but numerous persons have asked him to seek election.
The only person who has made known his definite intention to stand is Mr H. G. Warren. The present Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, will not be seeking re-election, either to the Mayoralty or to the Council.
