COAL WILL BE HERE NEXT WEEK, IT IS THOUGHT
Coal is expected to arrive in Whakatane from the beginning of next week in sufficient quantities to make up some of the leeway resulting from the Wai-
kato mines strike which finish-
ed this week.
Generally, it is intended to supply essential industries first and after that homes which use coal ranges. It is not expected that other homes will be without coal for long. Some merchants in Taihape have been without coal for three weeks.
