Hockey Teams Hold Benefit Day For St John Ambulance
Appreciation of the work done for sporting bodies by the St John Ambulance Brigade was expressed by the president of the Central Bay of Plenty Hockey Association, Mr K. Civil, at the Association’s benefit day at Edgecumbe on Saturday. He thanked the voluntary St John workers for their assistance during the season and presented the Whakatane and Rangitaiki brigades with a donation of over £22. On behalf of the St John movement Mr J. Sims thanked the Association for the donations and presented the Whittle Cup to the women’s West team and the St John Cup to the men.
