Mrs L. O. Stewart, Whakatane, is at present visiting Cambridge.
Mr and Mrs H. Pearson returned to Whakatane last week after holidaying at North Auckland.
Mr N. Waring has returned to his home at Cambridge after a brief visit to Whakatane last week.
Mr and Mrs F. Comer have returned to Whakatane after a fortnight’s holiday at Levin and Dannevirke.
Miss Shona MacDonald has been appointed to replace Miss B.- M. Starnes as deputy postmistress at the Edgecumbe Post Office. Miss Starnes has resigned and will cease her duties on February 12.
Mr W. Bradshaw returned to Ohope last week after attending the annual conference of the New Zealand Social Credit Association held in the Hutt Valley.
Miss B. M. Starnes, who has resigned from her position as deputy postmistress at Edgecumbe, ceased duty yesterday. She is to be married in a few months’ time.
Mr Henry Carter, a member of the Edgecumbe staff of the railway linesmen, has been transferred to the railway stores, Frankton Junction. He left yesterday to take up his new duties.
Mr C. D. Molesworth, borough foreman, and his family are at present holidaying at Ohope. Mr Molesworth, who is coach of the Whakatane Rowing Club, attended the Hamilton rowing regatta on Monday and will take part as one of the officials at the Empire Games Rowing at Lake Karapiro on Monday next.
Mr Harold P. Ralph has been appointed Sales Manager of Ford Motor Company of New Zealand Limited. Mr Ralph, who joined the Ford Company shortly after the opening of its New Zealand factory in 1936, has had wide experience in the Ford management field, particularly in the sphere of dealer activity. At the time of his new appointment Mr Ralph was Parts Merchandising Manager, a position he has held since 1942.
