Checking Telephone Calls
The Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania announce the development of an electrical book-keeper which keeps tab on all dial telephone calls. The automatic instrument punches symbols on a paper tape for each ’phone call made. These show the number of calls from an individual ’phone, the length of the call and the rate. At the end of the month the tap is run through a machine and a typist obtains translated data for billing purposes.
