Many Recoveries From Alcoholism Are Made Annually
Twenty-six New Zealanders have so far made full recoveries from alcoholism through the influence of Alcoholics Anonymous. This statement was made by the man who, four years ago, was the first to respond to the programme pf Alcoholics Anonymous by correspondence from New York.He said that Dunedin and Auckland could each report ten recoveries. This was fine progress considering that the first man recovered in Dunedin only two years ago. However, as elsewhere in New Zealand, there was plenty of material with which to work. “Newspaper publicity has proved the most effective method of getting inquiries from alcoholics,” he added.
