Two Applicants Fail Driving Test
Ten applicants for drivers’ licenses were tested, of which two failed to pass the traffic inspector, Mr M. C. Bridge, reported to the Whakatane Borough -Council. Fifty warnings were issued for various traffic offences and two notices were issued, one being for intoxicated while in charge of a car and the other for 1 exceeding 30 miles per hour while in a restricted area and also for having no drivers’ license. Night cycle checks were carried out during the month and of the 153 cyclists stopped 20 had machines without red reflectors, two had no. lights and five were without white patches on the rear mudguard.
