Kowhai W.I. Hears Talk On S.I. Tour
An interesting talk on a tour of the South Island was given by Miss Richardson at the monthly meeting of the Kowhai Women’s Institute, Whakatane, presided over by Mrs Cooper. The tour was organised by the Women’s Institute with twelve members of different institutes taking part.
Results of monthly competitions: Toffee, Miss D. Richardson 1, Mrs R. Rae 2, Mrs N. Hills 3; embroidered table centre, Miss Bayley 1, Miss Richardson 2, Mrs Rae 3. A competition, leaves of different shrubs and flowers, proved very interesting and was won by Mrs Milne, Mrs Rowson and Miss Harding. A Musical Parcel game was played and was won by Mrs T. Henderson.
Hostesses for the evening were Mrs Chamberlain, Mrs Evington, Miss Fife and Miss Bayley.
