Awakeri Hall To Reopen Next Month After Improvements
Following re-flooring and the installation of new fluorescent lighting, for which it has been closed for ab'out six weeks, the Awakeri Hall is to be re-opened on July 9 with the first of a series of fortnightly dances, the Hall Committee decided at a recent meeting. Members of the Women’s Division Federated Farmers have promised a first-class home-made supper, and the committee decided to experiment with the free bus system. The programme itself was exhaustively discussed, and that finally agreed upon includes several attractive novelties.
A scheme for running a novelty quiz series was deferred meantime, but will probably be instituted later. Profits from the social activities the committee is organising will be devoted to a war memorial community centre.
