Awakeri ParentTeacher Meeting

The first meeting of the Awakeri Parent-Teacher Association was held in the school on Thursday evening. The president, Mr W. G. Bunyan, presided over 35 members. Several matters relating to school affairs were discussed and dealt with, after which the headmaster, Mr E. G. Anderson, delivered an address on modern trends in school sport, stressing the importance of minor games in providing oppor- ; tunity for all pupils to participate in recreative pursuits. Mr Anderson made a clear case for the inclusion of minor games in inter-school competitions. Two highly interesting films were then screened. The association decided to hold regular card evenings in the near future. A pleasant and useful evening then ended with the serving pi a tasty supper by the ladies.
