RUGBY FOOTBALL PRIMARY SCHOOL PLAYERS As the Thames Valley team which was to have played Bay of Plenty as a curtain raiser to the Maori All Black v Bay of Plenty match at Tauranga on Wednesday next is not now available a match will be played between teams from the Eastern Bay (Whakatane and Opotiki) and Western Bay (Rotorua and Tauranga).

THE SHALFOON SHIELD LAST CHALLENGE GAME The Rangitaiki Juniors will meet the final challengers for the season at Matata tomorrow. This will be in the form of a strong Te Puke side, representing the Union which already holds the Hurinui Apanui Shield in the senior grade. The match will be watched with - the keenest interest.

Rangitaiki juniors, have this year risen to greater heights than in many years past. Annexing the trophy last year they have so far withstood all challenges and tomorrow will tell the story as to whether they will retain it till next year. Spectators generally have noted the improved form of Rugby put up by the juniors and for this reason particularly good gates have been realised. Tomorrow’s game should be no exception.
