SATURDAY'S CEREMONY CIVIC GATHERING AT 12.15 Details of the civic reception to be accorded the men returning home on extended New Zealand furlough on Saturday were finalised at the meeting of the Borough Council last evening. The Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, will unofficially meet the train this evening and has already made it his duty to see that all near relatives of' the men concerned' are transported to the station. On Saturday next at 12.15 a special parade and civic welcome home will take place in which it is hoped to include all men who have returned from active service to d'ate. The paradte will muster at the Rock and 1 march to the Winter Show Buildings where speeches will be made by the' Mayor, the County Chairman, the R.S.A. President and a Maori speaker.
