SOCIAL EVENING
MATATA RED CROSS SOCIETY
.The Maori members of the Matata Red Cross Society entertained their Pakeha sisters last Aveek at a social evening held in the meeting house. A very enjoyable time was spent by all present, the traditional Christmas Tree forming a special feature of the celebrations. Musical items,
action songs, native waiatas were rendered by a capable troupe of entertainers who were accorded the generous applause they deserved. A pleasing gesture was the presentation of dainty perfume sachetes to all members present.
In recognition of her useful lectures on First Aid and Home Nurs-
ing given during the past few months, Mrs Paurati Avas the recipient of a suitable presentation on behalf of the two organisations.
All present were united in their praise of the very tasteful supper provided by the president, Mrs N. A. McCrackcn.
