SUCCESS AT HOCKEY
The Whakatane County Ladies' Hoekcv Representative team visite.l Rotorua on tlie Jung's Birthday to play for the Aard Cup held by th-.> Rotorua Ladies' Hoekey Association. The team wa,i composed mostly of t voung players and was successful in beating Roto rim. by 2 goals to 1. The team was captained by Miss Florence Lester, assistant teacher of the Ruatoki Native School, and the only pakeha player. The Ri-v W. Rangi was manager. After the match the yisitors were entertained at a dinner at which fie Aard Cup was presented bv Mr Mus„ grave, President of the Rotorua Hoc- , key Association. It was received by Miss Lester the captrin, and the Rev \Y. Rangi thanked Mr Musgrave and his association for the hospitality ex.. tended, and or: behalf of the Whakatane Association, extended an invi tation to the Rotorua men's and ladies' representative teams to play the Whaikatavie teams at Edgecumbe next week-end. This was accepted by the Rotorua Association, and arrange ments are now being made in tint direction.
