BU TLER—MEAD
A wedding of interest to a wide circle of friends was solemnised in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church on Wednesday last when cider daughter of Mr and Mrs A ineent Mead of Taneat.ua was married to Mr Clifford Samuel, third son of Mr and the late Mrs Edward Butler of White Pine Bush Whakatane. Mr James Stewart of Taneatua officiated. The bride made a charming picture in a gown of ivory embossed tinsel satin fashioned on Princess lines, wearing a frilled tulle veil loaned by a friend of the bride's mother. She carried an exquisite bouquet of white roses, carnations and maidenhair fern. The two bridesmaids, Miss Myrtle Davies and Miss Naida McGougan, were frocked alike in dainty' blue shadow lace over /"geranium they wore sequin /rilled caps and tv,p nots of carnations'. They carried bouquets of pink carnations and maidenhair fern. Two little flower girls, Jean Mead and Carol Eagle wore frocks of green silk velvet, finished with gold trimmings and carried muffs to matchThe bridegroom was attended by Mr Frank Mead as best man and Mr Brian Butler as groomsman. The reception was held in the Town Hall where over a hundred guests were 'received by Air and Mrs iMeau, assisted by Mrs S. Windlebourne, sister of the bridegroom. Mrs Mead wore a charming ensemble of saxe blue with hat and accessories to tone. Mrs Windlebourne wore a smart navy costume -and fur witlv hat to match. The beautiful four.tiercd wedding cake made by Mrs Santon and iced by Mi's a gift to the happv couple,, held pride of place on the brida] table. The tables were daintily decorated with iceland poppies and asparagus fern. Amongst the guest s was Mrs McKenzie of Honi. kiwi bridesmaid to the bride's mother Mr and Mrs Butler left by car for a tour of the North Island, the bride wearing a frock of green satin crepe and a coat trimmed with grey tu>" with accessories to tone. Mr and Mrs Gliflord Butler were the recipient? of many cheques and beautif.il pie sents.
