POWER BOARD REPORT INCREASE IN REVENUE It was gratifying to note that the progress of the board's activities was being steadily maintained, and 4 hat although the past year had been subject to further rising the final figures could be considered as satisfactory, said Mr J. NEW CONSTRUCTION During the year 24.14 miles of 11,000 volt lines, .72 miles of 400' volt lines and 7.14 miles of 400 volt lines on 11,000 volt iine 3 had been erected. Seventeen chains of three phase 11,000 volt cable had been laid for the Whakatane tie line, and 297 consumers* service totalling 1159 route chains of line, constructed. Thirty-one new transformers of a' total capacity of 415.5 KVA had been erectted. This included the Manawahe extension and Mr Dicker estimated that revenue from that source should be approximately £500 a year. There were now in service 264.t> miles of 11,000 volt lines, and 381 distribution transformers of a total capacity of 5128 KVA. MAINTENANCE INCREASE Mr Dicker said that this year he increased the maintenance estimates. Last year the board's finances were required for a programme of new capital works in excess of normal, but bv the end of the present year the majority of this work should be completed, and acordingly certain major periodic overhauls such a, transformer oil filtering. etc., could be carried out. 7 f
