RESPONSIBILITY OF RAILWAYS
DEATH OF SHEEP IN ENGLAND British Railways Executive were fined £4OO, with 10 guineas costs, at Brighton for causing unnecessary suffering to 00 sheep on a railway journey from Fakenham (Norfolk) to Brighton. It was said that they were consigned to Brighton in two railway trucks containing 40 sheep each, and that on arrival four were found to be dead, three dying, and two so badly injured that they were destroyed immediately.
