OUT AND ABOUT
Dead Beasts In Tauranga ' The Tauranga Harbour Board is still having trouble as a result of the dumping in the harbour of carcases of dead beasts. In a report to the monthly meeting of the board the foreman (Mr C. M. F. Hayman) said that a medium-sized horse and a dog had had to be disposed of in a week. Aid For Europe The sum of £ISOO has been transferred to the reconstruction department of the World Council of Churches by the National Council of Churches in New Zealand. Of that sum, £7O was given specially for Church. work in Hungary and £250 for pastors suffering from tuberculosis, and their families, in east Germany. The remainder of the money is to be spent at the discretion of the department. The national council has received many letters of thanks from Europe for shipments of food and clothing.
