He rode an peccable race, always taking the [ht line on the countless corners i never making a mistake. )n the first lap, Tumbridge, rid!a very special B.S.A. was leadI'by 38 seconds after a very good >rt and held for several laps, folded consistently by Boyle, also a B.S.A. Both were passed by w, who eventually lapped most the field twice. Of the 45 riders P in the programme to start in B event, more than half retired [one reason or another, mostly ffamcal faults. & 11-3 miles of bitumen were
