Problems Of Wages And Prices
IVL Bidault's Progress
In France
Allocation Of Cabinet Posts
(Rec. 8.30 a.m.) London, Oct. 27. The French Christian Democrat leader, M- Bidault, has outlined 1 his programme to the National Assembly and has asked for a vote of confidence in himself as Prime Minister.
M. Bidault concentrated on the problems of wages and prices, like the Socialist, M. Moch, and the Radical, M. Mayer, both of whom had formerly failed to form a Cabinet.
M. Bidault advocated a cost of living bonus, to be paid to the lowest-paid workers once only, a return to collective bargaining, and drastic economies in State spending. The debate continues and the vote may be taken later tonight. A Paris correspondent says M. Bidault seems reasonably certain of getting his majority, but the allocation of posts in his Cabinet remains his main problem.
