WEEKEND SALES OF PETROL
RESTRICTIONS REVOKED AS FROM MONDAY
(P.A.) Wellington, Oct. 27. The order restricting weekend petrol sales to supplies required in cases of emergency is to be revoked as from Monday. Notice of this is given in the Gazette published this evening. Under this order petrol could only he obtained on Saturdays or Sundays to complete a journey of more that 100 miles, to make a journey as a matter of unexpected urgency on account of death, illness or business, and for use under the authority of "a licence to ply for hire. It was also necessary for emergency stations to keep a register of those urgent sales, which had to be signed by the vendor and the purchaser of the petrol.
