Tauranga District Arrangements Dates Fixed For Judges’ Visits A general meeting of the Tauranga Boys and Girls’ Agricultural Club decided to apply to the Domain Board for use of the racecourse on Saturday, November 26, for the club’s annual show and field day. It was also agreed that admission charges be one shilling for adults and sixpence for cars, tickets to be issued and sold in advance. This, it was considered, would facilitate the work of the gatekeepers. The meeting agreed to a proposal to make the Hopping Cup open to ail stock in the heavy breeds, either pedigree or grade, and to adopt a similar method to that used last year in the children’s judging competition. The Errors Check system will be used, the judges’ points being compared with those awarded by the children and the difference tallied. The team of four with the lowest difference total will be declared the winning team. Individual school club committees are to be requested to assist the judges in the gardens competition by eliminating poor entries before being judged, and to make cars available, if possible, to allow competitors to inspect other gardens. The itinerary arranged for the inspection of gardens by the judges was: November 5, Otumoetai, Te Puna and Bethlehem; November 7, Tauranga; November 8, Ohauiti, Kaite Falls and Papamoa Maori; November 9, Greerton, Pye’s Pa and Tauriko; November 11, Mount Maunganui; November 14, Pahoia, Omokoroa and Whakamarama.

Days set for the judging of the livestock are as follows: November 7, Otumoetai and Te Puna; November 8, Greerton; November 9, Papamoa Maori, Kaiate Falls and Ohauiti; November 10, Tauriko; November 11, Pahoia, Omokoroa and Whakamarama; November 14, Oropi and Pye’s Pa.
