NEW ZEALAND SEA CADETS
EMPIRE CAMP IN CANADA three, chosen from MAIN PORTS (P.A.) Wellington, March 17. . Three sea cadets from three of the main ports were selected by the Dominion council of the Navy League today to join a party of sea cadets to attend the Empire sea cadets’ camp in Canada later this year. The selection of nominees from Auckland will be made tomorrow, as nominations from the local branch of the league had not been received today. Sea Cadet Lieutenant-Commander T. K. M. Markwick, of Auckland, will be in command, and Sea Cadet SubLieutenant P. M. Sanders, of Wellington, was appointed additional officer.
The party would leave Auckland for Vancouver in the Aorangi, on July 3, said the secretary of the council. Lieutenant - Commando’’ Wybrants Olohert. A camp would be held at Choisy, between Quebec and Montreal, on the St. Lawrence River. The cadets would then spend a fortnight at camp in Ontario. As the guests of the Canadian Government, they would visit Vancouver, returning finally in the Aorangi on October 20.
