FILTER FOR COOLING SYSTEMS

RUST AND DIRT SCREENED FROM WATER EASY REMOVAL FEATURE OF DEVICE Cooling effectiveness of automobile radiators is maintained by the Auto-Rad Filter, an American accessory designed to stop circula--tion of foreign particles in automotive cooling -systems. Rust, rubber, sediment, calci'um particles, dirt, are screened out and deposited in an easily removed glass bowl. The filter is an aluminium alloy casting with a fine mesh, replaceable screen. A standard, glass sediment bowl; held against a cork gasket by a simple, spring-tension locking device, acts as a visible reservoir for filtered particles. The accessory is installed in place of a two inch section of the rubber hose that connects cylinder head and radiator top. Two hose clamps secure the filter in place—with bowl in down or backward position to allow gravity settling of sediment from filtering screen. Frequent cleaning by removal of the bowl and screen will be necessary on old cars until accumulated particles have been filtered out. In new cars, or on thoroughly cleansed systems, removal and cleaning of the sediment bowl and scren is recommended at times of oil changes only, unless dirty or corrosive water has been Introduced between times.
