CONFERENCE ON AFRICA
PROBLEMS AFFECTING 44,000,000
REPRESENTATIVES FROM TEN TERRITORIES
London, Sept. 28. The African conference will be opened in Manchester House, London,, tomorrow by Mr Herbert Morrison, acting for the Prime Minister. Delegates from ten African territories, with a population of 44,000,000, are attending the conference to .discuss economic co-operation between the territories and between Africa and the rest of the world. Other subjects include health, development and communication. Colonial Office experts will examine the problems facing Britain in Africa, including the shortage of transport which is slowing clown the output of rawmaterials. The day before the conference enris on October 9, the delegates will be received by the King.
