FLYING BOAT SERVICE
RE-QFENING OF SPRINGBOK ROUTE
London, Sept. 28. British Overseas Airways announce that early next month they hope to restart their famous flying boat service on the Springbok Route between Britain and South Africa. The 34 flying boats were withdrawn from service in June to have the position of the wing-tip floats altered. This has now been done. • The Springbok service in operated jointly by 8.0.A.C. and South African Airways. 8.0.A.C. will operate their share of it with three trips weekly between Southampton and the flying boat terminal for Johannesburg.
