GOLF CLOSES AT KATIKATI

PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES

MEDAL ROUND AND STABLEFORD

(Times Correspondent) A medal rqund won by Mr B. Houston and a stableford won by Mr D. Warman were the matches piayed to mark the official closing day on the Katikati golf links. Two golf balls, donated by Mr Branch, of Tauranga, were the trophies for this event. Long drive competitions were also held, these being won by Messrs A. Ellery and C. Hobday and Mrs L. Skinner. During the afternoon, Mr W. HoJmcs the president, presented the trophies won during the year. Presentations were also made to MiIs*. Wickham for his services as secretary and to Mesdames Moulden and Robinson, who had allowed the links to be made on their property.

The following are the results of the various competitions: Senior men's championship (Lion Cup), Mr R. Mills. (The Lion Cup was redonated by Mr C. Hobday, who had previously won it two years in succession). Senior men's handicap (Dewars Cup), Mr C. Hobday; junior men's championship (Paxton Memorial Cup), Mr A. Eliery; junior men's handicap championship (Wickham trophy), Mr A. Ellery; junior women's championship, Mrs H. Patterson; junior women's handicap championship (Farmers' Trading Co. trophy), Mrs L. Skinner. Medal round, best average over 4 rounds: (Women), Mrs L. Skinner (Mrs Hobday's trophy); (men), Mr A. Ellery (Mills Shield); stableford, Mrs C. Hobday and Mr W. Holmes (C. Hobday donation); Canadian foursome, (women), Mrs M. Kelly; (men), Mr H. Patterson. Stableford bogey, Mrs M. Kelly, Mr W. Holmes; medal round (women), Mrs M. Kelly; (men), Mr D.
