WIN BY 44 GOALS TO 22
AUSTRALIAN BASKETBALL VICTORY.
(P.A.) Auckland, Sept. 12. Playing the best game of their tour the Australian women’s basketball team defeated New Zealand by 44 goals to 22 on Saturday. The win was not as overwhelming as the score would indicate.
Australia can attribute if:i high scoring to superior understanding between W. McKenzie and M. Craddock and A, Murray and L. Hornig. These four players have played together for their club team in Melbourne for a number of years. The teams were:— Australia.—M. White, captain, J,. Hewish, W. McKenzie, J. Cowan, A. Murray, L. Hornig, M. Craddock.
New Zealand. —B. Plant, cantain, R. Woodgyer, J. Hickey, D. Turner, M. Sullivan, A. Hughes, N. Nicholls.
