PRESENTATION CUP DANCE
COUNTRY CRICKET' CLUB’S FUNCTION TRIBUTE PAID TO MR F. P. KEENAN The Country Cricket Association’s presentation cup dance held m the Tauriko Hall recently was an- outstanding success. In making the presentation on behalf of the donors —the Tauranga Sports Depot—the president of the association (Mr L. A. Lorrigan) explained that the cup was given not to encourage the win-at-all-cost attitude, but to foster the friendliness and sportsmanship that was so annareiT tlw previous vear. The president thanked the donors for their gift. On presenting the cup to Mr F. P. Keenan, the skipper of the winning team (Pye’s Pa) the president paid him a compliment by saying that Mr Keenan always placed sportsmanship and fair play at the top of his list. These factors allied with hie well average ability established for’ him a great name in country cricket. Mr Keenan suitably replied. The music few dancing was supplied by the Hi-Litcs’ Orchestra, with Mr L. H. Fisher acting as master of ceremonies.
