TOTALISATOR PERMIT SOUGHT
MOVE BY TE PUKE CLUB •
Special Committee To Investigate
Application To Be Made
To Minister
(Times Correspondent) A claim for a totalisator permit or for a five-shilling totalisator, is to be made by the Paengaroa Racing Club. A special committee comprising Mr lnnes Vercoe, I. Robertson and D. Neilson has been set up to gather the necessary information to be sent to the Minister of Internal Affairs to support the claim. At a special meeting of the racing club committee presided over by Mr Vercoe, it was pointed out that the Racing Commission is to sit shortly and it is possible that further permits for country clubs will be issued.
Copies of the club's letter to the Minister will be sent to Mr F. W. Diidge M.P. for Tauranga and to Mr W. S. Goosman M.P. for Piako. The club will hold a winter meeting, possibly in July. The same committee will fix a date which will not clash with other sporting activities.
