5,000-FOOT RUNWAY FOR ROTORUA
PREPARATION FOR ROYAL VISIT (P.A.) Rotorua, April 5. The construction of a new aerodrome for Rotorua with a 5000 ft runway, to be ready in time for the Royal tour next year, was supported by the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, when he visited Rotorua today. The Prime Minister was on his way back to Wellington from Mangakino. In a tour of the borough today with the Mayor, Mr A. F. Moncur, Mr Fraser inspected the site cf the proposed aerodrome near Hinemoa Point, the old Whakarewarewa bridge, which is to be rebuilt, and the Janet Fraser Memorial Hostel for Maori visitors, which is under construction.
